A few weeks in now and I’m starting to notch up my fitness levels for being able to run a bit further! Thank goodness for my PT buddy Gemma and trainer Helen Kenny aka Fliss from Helen Pitman Personal Trainer who definitely gets me motivated on a Monday morning.
We had the TRX out, fab piece of kit which means you can take your training to the next level wherever you are. The extra resistance really feels like you’ve had a proper workout and although it hurts at the time I love it!
One lesson I’ve learnt from this training session is the importance of a cool-down. A cool-down provides the body with a smooth transition from exercise back to a steady state of rest. It helps return muscles to their optimal length-tension relationships, and especially in my case, helps prevent muscle soreness joint pain and the ability to get out of bed the next morning.
After this training session I found that a coffee and a good chinwag helped restore things to normal too 😉
